I came here once, years ago, liked it a lot, but never came back. Why? I have no idea. I think there's just too much competition in this city. Weirder still is that I had written a review, which mysteriously vanished - but my old photos are still there. This is not the first time this has happened, even after the owner of the other place wrote to thank me for the nice review!
Mad Matty's has changed ownership and has been remodeled, but the food is still great, and the value is incredible. And food is served 24/7.
The redone restaurant now has two rooms dedicated to food, and is away from the smoke at the poker bar. It's also cozied up by a beautiful fireplace, but the AC punctured the warmth by cycling on from time to time. I can't believe we were the only ones there, though another table showed up before we left. There are also TVs in the dining rooms. The whole place is a far cry from the dive-bar vibe of yore.
Our waitress, Edith, was so friendly and welcoming, and I enjoyed practicing my Spanish with her. But the Riesling I ordered somehow got translated to White Zinfandel. I kept it, though, and it was a very generous pour for much less $$ than other places.
My husband ordered the Matty Burger, a gigantic creation with cheese, avocado, eggs, onion and maybe other stuff - for 9.99. My half-pounder was with Swiss, grilled onions and mushrooms, and I couldn't even finish it. Both burgers were cooked exactly the way we ordered them, and delicious. We were able to get salad instead of the fries, and it was a big one. One nit is that it was iceberg; I don't mind the taste, just the absence of any nutritional value. But it had cuke, tomato, onions, croutons and cheese. I know romaine is more expensive, so I really can't bitch about it - two meals for under $20, and so big that I couldn't finish mine.
I can't review the rest of the food, but the prices of the other menu items, which include whole dinners also at bargain prices, are enticing. I can, though, wholeheartedly recommend their burgers. Before we left, Edith told us about their Happy Hour, until 7 pm M-F, with all appetizers $5 and drinks - drumroll! - for $2.25. See ya next time! -

Sorry for the blurry picture my camera didn't want to cooperate with me. But as far as my experience with Mad Mattys i have nothing but good things to say. I really like the bartender Anne. She is great. Super sweet and attentive. I ordered the sweet thai chili wings! They are super BOMB! I mean fall off the bone good and comes in a good portion. About 10 to 12. The sauce is amazing, sweet kind of tangy. It was one of the best things i had ever had. (At that moment in that bar lol ).I also tried the fried zucchini. Sliced zucchini fried in cornmeal. They werent as good as the wings, quite frankly lacking in flavor but still ok. Also the grilled chicken club on parmesan toast was amazing. That was suggested by Anne. And well worth it. Overall this is a really cool place to visit whether you are just wanting to have a drink or get food. The breakfast if half off between 12am to 10 am. And mind you nothing on the menu is over 15 for breakfast. Give this place a visit and say hi to Anne for me.

Dear mad Maddys
why anyone would wanna come to your bar is besides me! You have the absolute worst service from any bartender I've ever been to at any bar not only in this time but anywhere in the United States. I encourage anybody looking for a new neighborhood bar or even a bar to please avoid mad Maddys at all costs! This bar on Sahara is the absolute worst waste of space waste of staff and waste of time I've ever been to I would offer you less than one star if I could but unfortunately up only lets me do one please revisit your staff training on how to say hi and welcome new customers and management you really should do more to oversee your staff the reason why no cars are ever in your parking lot because you all are just the worst waste of space ever. Nothing more to add to this yelp review with I hope everyone reading this will avoid mad Matty's at any cost. -

I came here with some friends about a month ago when we were looking for a change. We were greeted right away by Sean who was very friendly and welcoming. He suggested an omelette that was really delicious and we also ordered some mozzarella sticks that were the perfect amount of gooey. The drinks were also great, Sean does not water them down at all. We've been back several times since then always great customer service no matter who the bartender is and the food is always on point. We finally found a spot that we can all agree to go to whenever we want to grab a drink. Thank you guys for being awesome

Cheapest drinks I've ever had in Vegas, friendly bar staff and food is pretty decent too. Great place to go after work on a long day, or for late-night gatherings.
Solid local spot for the west Vegas crowd and a staple of my occasional cheap drinks with friends on a weeknight or whenever!
